Back Pain Heerenveen
Effective Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation
Struggling with back pain? You're not alone. Back problems are one of the most common reasons to visit a physiotherapist. Whether you have lower back pain, a herniated disc, acute back pain, or chronic issues - at Groen's Fitness Forge I not only help relieve the pain but also teach you how to prevent recurrence.
Do You Recognize These Symptoms?
Lower Back Pain
Stiffness and pain in the lower back, especially after prolonged sitting or standing. Difficulty bending or twisting.
Radiating Pain
Pain that extends to your buttocks, thighs or even your feet (sciatica-like symptoms).
Acute Back Pain
Sudden, severe pain that makes it hard to move. Muscles that are completely locked up.
My Approach to Back Pain
I always start with a thorough analysis of your complaints. Where exactly is the pain? When did it start? What makes it better or worse? Based on this conversation and physical examination, I create a personalized treatment plan. This combines hands-on treatment with active exercises you can also do at home. The goal is not just pain relief, but strengthening your back so the problems don't return.

Frequently Asked Questions About Back Pain
How many treatments will I need?
This varies per person and condition. With acute back pain, I often see significant improvement within 3-5 treatments. Chronic conditions may take longer. After the intake, I'll give you an honest estimate.
Is physiotherapy covered by insurance?
Yes, physiotherapy is (partially) covered by your supplementary insurance. I have contracts with all health insurers, so you get maximum reimbursement.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you can come directly to me without a referral. This is called direct access physiotherapy (DTF). This saves you time and lets you start treatment faster.
